the $3650 limit includes employer matching contributions. if all the HSA contributions were done through an employer (w-2) there reflected in box 12 W. your contribution deducted from your paychecks reduced box 1 wages on the W-2. per the IRS instructions in this case all contributions are employer contributions and yours are zero unless you contributed an amount directly
