@tiffanycarlisle - you have to have earned income exceeding $2500 to get the 1st dollar - that doesn't mean you automatiucally get $2000 because you have $2601 of earned income
Here is how it works:
•Child Tax Credit: $2,000 per child, limited by tax liability on line 16 for Form 1040.
PLUS
•Aadditional child tax credit”) - lesser of
- a) $1,500 per child
- b) 15% of earned income over $2,500
- c) $2,000 per child less non-refundable credit
