Can a person deduct mortgage interest if pays the mortgage but not on the 1099?
I live in Michigan and it is my primary residence. My daughter is on my loan when I bought (due to my credit I was unable to et a loan) can I deduct my property taxes and mortgage interest even though the 1099 for mortgage interest is in my daughters name? I (not my daughter) pay both the property taxes and mortgage interest.
