Deductions & credits

To ask TurboTax if you had previously done an IRA to HSA transfer, you would have to install all those old versions of TurboTax and load each year's tax file, one by one.

A simpler way to do this might be to ask for transcripts of your old tax returns from the IRS. Transcripts are free, because they are not the forms with data on them, but just line data (i.e., each line on each form with the corresponding value). Any IRA to HSA transfer would appear on line 10 of form 8889.

For Transcripts, you want the Tax Return Transcript. See https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-return-transcript-types-and-ways-to-order-them

However, you can get only the last three years of Tax Return data from the IRS. Before that, you'll need to get old copies of TurboTax software and in the future make a plan to keep all your old tax returns.

You may find it faster to contact your IRA administrator and ask if you ever requested a trustee to trustee transfer to your HSA administrator. Ditto with your HSA administrator.
