if you are a W-2 employee, the short asnwer is 'no' you can not deduct mileage on your taxes 

 

if you are self-employed (and receive a 1099- NEC), then you can deduct SOME of the mileage.

 

Here is how it works:

 

1) you can NOT deduct mileage from your home to the first job site and from the last job site back to your home at the end of the day.

2) you CAN deduct the mileage travelled BETWEEN job sites. 

 

So the mileage from Community 1 to Community 2 to Community 3 to COmmunity 4 can be deducted, but the mileage from Home to Community 1 and from Community 4 to Home can NOT be deducted
