If your child cannot be your qualifying relative dependent because the child had more than $4,300 of gross income, but otherwise would have qualified as your dependent (basically that you provided more than half the child's support), then you can include in your deductible medical expenses any qualifying medical expenses you paid on your child's behalf just as if your child was your dependent. |
