My wife received a compensation (Less than 10k) for medical injury due to the lab negligence.
She was sent 1099 MISC with this amount in Box 3 (other Income). Is this taxable as per IRS ? If not, do i need to report this in my filing and how do i offset the tax on this non taxable income.
