Your standard deduction could be $28,400 if the following conditions are all true:
- You are using the Married Filing Joint filing status -- $25,100
- Either you and/or your spouse were born before January 2, 1957 or you and/or your spouse were blind as of December 31, 2021 (two of those statements apply out of the four possibilities) -- $1350 for each instance
- You made cash charitable contributions of at least $600 and those were entered into your tax return -- $600 Cares Act charity deduction
The total would be $25,100 + $1350 + $1350 + $600 = $28,400.
