The IRS does not send an email confirming a return has been filed, just the TurboTax confirmation. Are you trying to check the status of your refund on the IRS web site? I can't use that because I don't have a refund. You also can sign up for an online account with the IRS and check information that way, although all it says for my account is that the return I e-filed last Friday hasn't been processed yet. Frustrating if the IRS web site doesn't recognize your information but I don't know what you can do in that case except to wait 24 hours and try again.
