Deductions & credits

My return was filed on Friday and was accepted about 20 minutes later.  State return accepted on Saturday.  And the direct debit from my bank to the IRS hit the account early this morning.  So I'm reasonably certain that the process worked.

After completing my return, I responded to the quality questionnaire in TT.  Just got a phone call from someone at TT asking for more details about the problem.  So it appears that this situation has gotten someone's attention.  I told the caller that this situation came about because of a last-minute change by the IRS, but the real issue was the absolutely lousy way that TT handled the matter - first announcing that they would not be able to support e-filing of returns with Form 1116 Schedule B, then announcing that e-Filing would be supported, but then failing to provide sufficient instructions with the release of the software to allow users to actually e-File.

The sad thing is that something similar happened a few years ago - with so much 'bad press' that it was even report on the local TV news.  I would think that Intuit would have learned the lesson that they need to think carefully about what they are doing, and make sure that they have their act really together.
