The School Tax Relief (STAR) program offers property tax relief to eligible New York State homeowners.
You can receive the STAR credit if you own your home and it's your primary residence and the combined income of the owners and the owners’ spouses is $500,000 or less.
To enter the STAR credit:
- Login to your account
- Click State from the left menu and click Continue
- Click Edit next to the NY return
- Scroll down to Credits and Other Taxes and click Update
- Click Update next to Property Tax relief for STAR credit
