Comparing this years to last years, it shows on line 16 that my tax is $5851, just shy of the missing 6k. Again, every year for the past 5 years line 16 on my 1040 is $0. The only thing that changed was the new CTC. The new CTC was supposed to be fully refundable, non-taxable. But it appears from line 16 that is not the case. Why would my tax go from 0 to $5851? Anyone?
