You should answer 'No' and then enter only the $1,400 that is applied to you.  Likewise, your ex-spouse should enter her $1,400 assuming, as you said, that each of you had your own portion.  And also, you indicated the IRS website show only your $1,400 under your account. It should show the same for her.

 

This information assumes you are filing single.  After your complete that portion of your return you should use the 'Preview My 1040' to check line 30.  It should show a zero or blank entry.

 

You can view your entire return or just your 1040 form before you e-file:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then:
    • View only your 1040 form: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu.
  3. Scroll to line 30.
