I requested a number of QCD's from my broker. Now because in VA the standard deduction for a married couple is only $9,000 it may be to my benefit to itemize even though my itemized deductions will be slightly less than the standard deduction for a married couple who are both over 65. Therefore, I would like to use my QCD's on Schedule A as charitable deductions rather than use them to reduce the taxable amount of my IRA distributions. Can I do that?
