Send the original receipt with your tax return, but make sure you keep a copy of it for your records - you might need it in the unlikely event there is a recall. Also, be sure you registered the purchase with the manufacturer, both for warranty and recall purposes.
Without knowing what state you are filing, we can't be certain if an original receipt is required but you only need a copy of the receipt for your records.
Since you don't need an original, send it with your tax return to avoid any uncertainty over your state's requirement.
