Deductions & credits
@kimberlyc3636 If the IRS adjusted their refund after they filed because Line 30 was incorrect it means that the IRS records didn't match what was reported on the return to be the amount already received for that taxpayer.
This happened a lot to early filers who indicated they didn't receive the $600 second payment, and then the payment was received after the return was filed. The IRS then reduces the refund by this amount, because they show that they already sent it.
If they didn't receive the payment (lost in the mail, etc., they should request a refund trace) https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+request+a+refund+trace+IRS&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS906US906&oq=how+to...
The program doesn't have an issue with this calculation, but there is a lot of confusion about how it is supposed to work.
