No.  Tax returns are reported on a cash basis generally.  Therefore, your property taxes can only be deducted in the year they are actually paid out.

 

If your mortgage lender issues you a correct 1098 for 2020, then yes, you would be able to amend your 2020 income tax return.  However, if they were actually paid out in 2021, they would be considered a tax deduction in 2021.
