It depends. Are you claiming the standard deduction and trying to claim the $300 charitable contribution deduction. If so, don't enter directly on line 10B of the 1040.
- Go to federal>deductions and credits>scroll and continue through the screens.
- Continue through until you reach a screen that indicates that the standard deduction is right for you.
- The very next screen will be entitled any Charitable Cash Contributions. Here you can record your $300 amount.
