When entering information for your 1098 'Mortgage Interest Statement' you were asked your Mortgage Interest, outstanding mortgage principal, mortgage origination date, mortgage insurance premiums and Real Estate taxes paid.
Is it possible this is the section you remember.
The only other instance regarding house value would be in an exchange of property and you may have to provide the Fair Market Value.
