I too have this problem. I did donate rather more than $300, but was planning on entering just $300. However, no matter what value I enter in the box, the software returns an error: "unacceptable value". I have followed the two 'work-around' procedures listed here in this forum entry, and neither one has fixed the problem. Please fix the software!! (or, provide a working work-around....
