To enter your medical expenses in TurboTax online program,
go to:
1. After sign into your account and select Take me
to my return
2. At right upper corner, in search box , type
in schedule A, and Enter
3. On screen, Did you spend more than $$$ on
medical expenses in 2016?, answer the question and continue to proceed.
You are only allowed to deduct medical expenses above and beyond 10% of your Adjusted Gross Income AGI (7.5% if you or your spouse is 65 or older). Also, you need to itemize to benefit from the medical expense deduction. Until the sum of all your itemizable deductions exceeds your standard deduction amount, your refund won't change.
