No, you can only have one domicile and it will remain the state from which you have “moved” until you have taken the proper steps to change it to your new state of domicile. You will file your taxes as a resident in Louisiana.

 

Driver's licenses, where you are registered to vote and where you register your vehicle, are some factors into figuring out your domicile.

 

Since you have not yet had a physical presence in the State of California or made any of the above changes, you are not considered a resident for income tax purposes.
