I am attaching a post from KatherineC to remove the adoption credit from your tax return, please follow the steps below:
- Log into your return and continue it.
- Click on Federal in the left column
- Click on Deductions & Credits
- Under You and Your Family, click the button beside Adoption Credit
- You will see "Here's your adoptive child info"
- Click the trash can icon
- You will be asked to confirm you want to delete the credit
- Click Done
