So I tried to enter 5 months for the length of time the child was with me so that I would be the non-custodial parent this year, and TurboTax still said my child qualified me for a tax break, and still has her listed as a dependent.
I'm concerned I'm doing something wrong and don't want to get dinged for it later. I really am trying to do this the right way. Any thoughts?
