How specific do I need to be on my mileage log?
I am self employed through instacart and am keeping track of a mileage log so that I can deduct some miles. I've been using the MileIQ app, but when I view the mileage report, it only shows the city names for my point of origin and destination. It does not show the specific address. Would this be sufficient for the IRS in case I ever get audited? Or would they want me to have a more specific mileage log with complete addresses rather than city names?

specific addresses are not needed. consider that you could put down any address you want and the agent would have no way of knowing if it's legit.

I get what you're saying. I guess I'm just worried that if I ever did get audited, the IRS may think that just having a city name as the point of origin and destination wouldn't be sufficient. But if city name is sufficient enough for a mileage log then that would be great.
