This may be a strange question, but is your taxable income after taking the standard deduction showing '0'?  If so, claiming itemized deductions instead of the standard deduction is not necessary or beneficial.  It would only require you to file an additional form that is not needed.  

 

Having taxable income be reduced to zero does not mean that your tax liability should also be zero.  You may be subject to taxes other than income tax, such as self-employment tax.
