Is there still time to get the stimulus if I filed as a dependent last year, and have not yet filed as independent this year?

Hi all,

So I asked my mom a few weeks ago if she claimed me as a dependent last year (2018)- she told me no. With that in mind, I did not feel an urgency to file this year because was under the impression that I was not claimed as a dependent last year, and therefore would be receiving the stimulus this year... We have since realized that isn't the case. She did in fact claim me last year and I also filed as a dependent since I was eligible at the time. I know, we both messed up

Anyway, this year I am no longer eligible to be claimed. I just filed my taxes today as a single independent. My mom has not yet filed this year, but plans on filing as a single independent as well. Today she receive her stimulus in the amount of $1,200 (note: she didn't receive an extra $500 for me because I am over 17), and I have received nothing.

My question is: Because I just filed as a single independent today, is it too late to receive the stimulus check for myself? Would my mom also need to file as a single independent this year for me to receive the stimulus check?  In other words, would we both need to file as independents for 2019? Or, is it too late for all of this?

Please help! I would just like to know if this is a pipe dream or if its a real possibility. Thank you!!
