Affordable Care Act and Shared Policy With Daughter Who Graduated from College
I'm using Turbotax to work on taxes and have some questions around the Affordable Care Act and a shared policy with my daughter.
My daughter has been a dependent on our return every year until 2019. At the start of 2019 she was still in college (her last year) and I had her on our ACA health plan for 2019. In May 2019 she graduated from college and in July of 2019 she was employed full time and getting health insurance through her employer. At that time I removed her from our ACA policy. She did not receive a form 1095-A (I as her parent and as the one who took out the policy did).
I'm now working on taxes - and I believe I have to include my policy number on her taxes. I've done that and filled in the amounts for the months she was on our family ACA policy (from my 1095-A). I've also checked the box that "I shared this policy with another taxpayer not on my taxes".
I've then put in my SSN and the shared months of January through July. It then asks for Premium Percentage, SCLSP Percentage, and Advanced Payment of PTC Percentage.
My questions: Am I doing this correct, and for the three percentage boxes - do I just need them to equal 100% in each of the boxes when you add up what's on my daughters return and what's on my return? Or is there some other way I'm supposed to be doing this?
Thanks.
