As far as I know, in 2019 Gov. Hogan introduced a new Hometown Heroes Act to make pensions for first responders 55 and older tax free. This bill has not passed as of yet.
The Hometown Heroes Act of 2018 is still in effect as far as I know. This means the first $15,000 of a first responder 55 and older is tax free.
TurboTax needs to correct their Maryland State Program to make this deduction.
