You can enter it on a substitute 1099-R

 

With your return open

2.  At the right upper corner, type in the search bar 1099r, then Enter 

3.  Select Jump to 1099r 

4.  On screen, Your 1099-R, answer Yes and select Continue 

5.  Next screen, Choose your bank or brokerage, select I'll type it in myself 

6.  On the screen Tell Us Which 1099-R You Have, check the box  

     I need to prepare a substitute 1099-R and follow the prompts. 

 

It will ask for a Federal ID number, some taxpayers have said they have had luck with 99-0999999

 

If you are not able to e-file, you can enter the income as other miscellaneous income

 

With your return open:

 

  1. Select Federal tab,
  2. Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to Less Common income
  4. Select Miscellaneous 1099-A, 1099-C
  5. Click on start
  6. Click on other Reportable Income
  7. Click start
  8. Click Yes,
  9. Enter Description and amount
     

If you paid foreign tax on this income, you can enter the foreign tax in the foreign tax credit section.  In the search bar at the top of the page, enter foreign tax credit and click jump to
