Deductions & credits
Self-employed people can deduct an expense if it is necessary for business.
An ordinary meal taken during your lunch break is not deductible, unless you are on a business trip. If you've taken a prospective client or business partner to lunch to talk business, the expense is potentially deductible.
If deductible, the deduction is limited to 50% of the value of the meals.
