Deductions & credits
Here is what the response from Intuit employees SHOULD BE:
"We want to apologize for the many mistakes we have made regarding the 8936 form. As a company, we feel terrible for making many of you wait for a form that was available from the IRS weeks ago, and also for saying the form was ready and then having your returns that were already submitted being rejected because of our own stupid calculation mistake. The programmer who worked on this form has been terminated, and it has been turned over to a more capable programmer who should have been the one working on this in the first place. We guarantee that the form will be available tomorrow, February 20. After you resubmit your return with the corrected 8936, your return should be accepted by the IRS within 24 hours. Also, to further express our regret and ease your frustration, we are offering everyone who has been affected the following:
- We will provide you with a free copy of whatever version of TurboTax that you prefer for the next 5 tax years (2020-2024).
- We will refund what you paid for the current version of TurboTax.
- We will give you an additional $100.
We will be reaching out to those who have been affected. If you were affected by these mistakes and you don't hear from us via e-mail by February 25, please e-mail us at [email address removed].
We hope that you will forgive us for this mistake and that our efforts to make this up to you can earn your business in the future".
THAT is the kind of reply we should have received from Intuit employees, not the worthless [removed] that they have been posting.
