If you need to revisit the Dependents section in TurboTax Online, here's what you do:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax, if you aren't already in it.
- Select My Info in the left navigation.
- Select the Add a dependent button if you need to add someone. Select the trash can icon next to the name of a dependent to remove them (we'll ask you to confirm removing them before we take them off your return).

In general, if you are the parent that is eligible to claim the child, but he/she has already been claimed, then you should file your return by mail. This will prompt the IRS to examine both tax returns and request additional information to determine which return was filed correctly.
You could consider filing your return without claiming your dependent and then amending your return later to add the dependent back. This would also prompt the IRS to examine both tax returns.
