Deductions & credits
You may try deleting the information and re-enter:
- From the menu on the left, choose Tax Tools
- Click on Tools
- Select Delete a Form
- Scroll through the forms and click Delete next to any 1098 or Home Mortgage & Interest Worksheet
Return to the Deductions & Credits section to re-enter the information.
Keep in mind that mortgage interest is part of itemized deductions. You will not itemize unless the total exceeds the standard deduction for your filing status. If the total is not yet greater than your standard deduction, your entry will not change anything on your return. Keep entering your deductions until complete. The TurboTax software will determine which has the best tax benefits for you.
