Often, drop boxes for charitable organizations have blank "donation receipts" for you to record the dates and items donated.
If blank receipts weren't available for your donations, you would have to have your own records of the items donated and the dates donated, as well as the name of the charitable organization(s) who maintained the drop boxes.
