NOTE: Updated for 2017 returns (3/14/2018)
I've updated the original answer (which was for 2016) since the website "look" is different for the 2017 return. Here are the current steps for a 2017 return:
- Open your return ("Take me to my return.")
- Once the return is past the blue-green screen, click on Search in the top right corner.
- Enter Form 8862 without quotes and click the magnifying glass icon.
- Choose Jump to Form 8862.
If that doesn't work for you, here's another method:
- Go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then choose TOOLS.
- In the Tools window, choose TOPIC SEARCH.
- In the search line enter Form 8862 without quotes.
- In the selection list, choose Form 8862 and click GO.

If you don't find it with the regular Search tool, use the Topic Search from inside MY ACCOUNT. Here's how:
- Log in and go to the 2016 Tax Timeline.
- Open your return ("Take me to my return.")
- When the return is open, click at the top on MY ACCOUNT, then choose TOOLS.
- In the Tools window, choose TOPIC SEARCH.
- In the search line enter Form 8862 without quotes.
- In the selection list, choose Form 8862 and click GO.
