Follow these steps:
- Go to the federal income
- Scroll down to your 1099-R
- Edit
- Scroll down to the state section, verify MA in box 15
- continue, continue, continue, continue
- Public Safety Officer? continue
- Select your state
- Select Mass box
- Continue
- Special handling
- fill in your info
You can now exempt many types of state retirement income at that screen.
