State tax filing
The reason why the program won't let you efile is you have no taxable income to report after you took your exclusion. I have a solution that may work in the meantime so you can electronically file. Let me know if this works.
- Go to federal>income and expenses>all income>>show more
- Less Common Income> Start
- Miscellaneous Income,>start
- Other reportable income>start
- Next screen asks Any Other Taxable Income>yes
- The next screen will allow you to report the income with a brief explanation. Enter $100 worth of income and give it an explanation such as Incidental Income. This won't affect your tax return but may allow you to electronically file.
- Let me know one way or another if this works for you.
