State tax filing
Not necessarily- New York requires New York employers to report total wages paid to employees if they worked in side and outside New York. Some employers will list in Box 14 NY Wages for the actual wages reportable to New York. If it is not, you will have to allocate the New York wages.
NOTE: New York does tax remote workers if the company is in New York and the work you do is not required to be done remotely (Google "Convenience of the Employer") so you may be required to pay New York nonresident taxes.
