NY Income, NYC resident thru 9/1, Went to MN 3/20 for the Year, Also had a W2 sent to NJ....What do I do for States and NYC?
My job is in the Mount Vernon NY area, I had an apartment in NYC from Jan to August first, I left NYC to go to MN to stay with a family member for COVID from 3/1 thru 2021. I still have a NJ drivers license and currently no permanent address. My CC bills and pay stub are mailed MN. I received a NY and NJ W2s for federal income (with only state income withheld in NY). So what states do I need to fill in? What % is NY and what % is MN? Is my NY liability thru 9/1 or when I left the State? What should I do for NYC tax? Calculate it thru 9/1? Do I need to file anything with NJ? I am still in MN and have not been east since 3/3/20.
Thank you for your advice.
Sloppyice.
