The state tax that was paid on your W-2 must be entered with your W-2 on the federal return. The information will carry over to your state return.
To revisit your W-2:
- Login to your account.
- Select Federal from the left menu.
- Go to Wages and Income
- Select Income & Expenses
- Select Job (W-2)
- Click Edit/Add to the right of the Job (W-2)
- When you get to the state input section in boxes 15-17, be sure to enter your correct state in this section.
