State tax filing

Will I still get my federal tax refund even though I got that back in my account?

I don't know.  It's not clear yet.   If that deposit from Tax Products Group wasn't your Federal refund (minus the product fees and service charge), then it's not clear what it was for.  For the vast majority of folks it is the Federal refund.  Perhaps your situation is different.   There must be more to your story if you think it was not your Federal refund.   Was it a stimulus payment; i.e., did a stimulus payment go to Tax Products Group by mistake, and then they sent it to your account?   That has happened to some people.  This is a user community forum, and we don't know what your situation is.   We can tell you how to contact SBTPG (Tax Products Group) and ask them if you don't know what the deposit from them was for.

Is your account a bank account or a prepaid debit card account?

If a debit card, did you apply for a Turbo Visa Debit Card and got a refund advance?

How did you pay your TurboTax fees?  Did you choose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, or did you pay upfront with credit/debit card?

Check this IRS "Where's My Refund" tool to see if your Federal refund has been released and sent.  See the tips below.

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

  • Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status.
  • Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen.
  • Also be sure you are using the Federal amount before any TurboTax fees are taken out (if you chose that option.)
  • Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
  • You can also try phoning the IRS refund hotline.  I've seen it work for some users when the WMR tool didn't.  800-829-1954
