Calculating Non-Massachusetts Portion of Deductions.
Hi everyone!
I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct way to calculate the "Non-Massachusetts Portion of Deductions paid during 2020 to Social Security (FICA), Railroad, Medicare, U.S. or Massachusetts Retirement"
So I lived in MA from 01/01/2020 - 02/29/2020 and moved to VA. At first, I didn't understand how TurboTax generated $3,136 but realized they added the SS withheld ($2334) and Medicare ($801).
So should I just divide $3,136 by 12 and then times that amount by the months I was already living in VA to come up with the correct figure? In this case, the Non-MA portion of deduction I should put is $2,613?
Any thoughts would be highly appreciated!
