I live in California. I have VERY low income. I was on a Covered California policy for January and received a premium tax credit. After this, I went on Medicare for the remaining 11 months of the year. TurboTax says I have to repay $300 of the premium credit even though I have poverty level income. I am flabbergasted! How can this be? My income was LOWER in 2020 than in previous years. In no year have I ever had to repay an advanced premium credit. Is it because I went on Medicare in February of 2020? The federal government did not do this to me. In fact, they refunded me $1. Thanks!
