State tax filing
If you moved to Arizona, the you will file a California part-year return and an Arizona part-year return.
You will report only the California source income earned while a resident of California (which means that you won't report the Arizona income)., and you will report income earned while living in Arizona to Arizona.
Note that if you took any distributions like from an IRA, you will report that income to the state that you were in when you received the distribution.
***NOTE*** The above about earned income is true EXCEPT if you were self-employed in Arizona and continued to make money primarily from California sources. In this case, California will tax this income.
