State tax filing

You state that you're a MS resident then the next sentence has MS (other state return) so it's not clear whether you're a resident of MS or your a nonresident of MS.

Generally, you attach any tax forms that have MS state income tax withholding. An example if form W-2.

If you are a Mississippi resident or have Mississippi income and the income exceeds the allowable deductions and exemptions, you are required to file a return. If you are not required to file a Mississippi return, but you received a W-2 form stating you had Mississippi tax withheld, you must file a Mississippi return to get a refund of your Mississippi withholding.

If you're not a resident of MS, see How do I file a nonresident state return?

If you e-file the MS return, you don't have to mail in anything.

If you are mailing the MS tax return:

  • If you are receiving a refund
    P.O. Box 23058
    Jackson, MS 39225-3058
  • All other income tax returns
    P. O. Box 23050
    Jackson, MS 39225-3050
