The New York State Tax exemption for the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS) is not calculating correctly on TurboTax. Hopefully this error will be corrected with an update. It is defaulting to the $20,000/$40,000 retirement exemption. If this is the case, you can click on the New York State and City Education box to see if this changes your State Taxable amount. They are both fully New York State Tax exempt and should calculate the same. If the amounts are different, I would wait to file until an update corrects the issue.
