I lived in NY State for all of 2020, but in NYC for only 5 of those months. I don't know what to do about "Allocate Federal Adjustments to Income"
Specifically, it says "you must allocate your federal adjustments to income of $2571" based on time you spent in NYC." It then goes on to say that the "federal adjustments below must equal $2571." Do I just put $1071 under "NYC Resident Portion," and then the remaining $1500 under "Total Federal Adjustments?"

State tax filing
Yes. Your New York City allocation is correct. NYC has its own resident income tax separate from New York state income tax. Allocate 5/12s or $1,071 under NYC Resident Period. Total federal adjustments should equal $2,571.
