State tax filing
TurboTax requires entry for a state identifying number up to 14 digits in box 15 of your W-2 input. If the state identifying number is invalid, you will have to request the correct number from the employer.
If you are located in Utah, there additional things to consider:
- Utah requires all W-2's reporting income from Utah to have a 14-digit state identifying number.
- The state identifying number is usually an 11 digit number followed by WTH or WMP.
If you have a W-2 with Utah income, and do not see a 14 digit ID in box 15, then please contact your employer for the correct identifying number.
