I wonder if there are going to be a lot more people in this position suddenly - as of this year, 1099's in CA are no longer shared with the state by the IRS, but are now requested by the FTB to be sent directly to the FTB by the payor. So essentially every 1099 will become 1099ergirl's situation, where all the filings are sent directly to the FTB.
